Pre-School Admissions
Robin Class caters for children aged from two to four years.
We take on new Robins in:
- September (apply by 31st May)
- January (apply by 31st October)
- April (after Easter half term) (apply by 1st March)
Please note your child will only be able to start pre-school if there are spaces available.
Our Sessions
If you would like to apply for a place, please complete the new starter form and email it to Claire Lynch at earlyyears@mauldenlower.com.
Once we receive your form, your details will be added to our waiting list and you will be contacted by email nearer the time of your requested start date. Before we can offer places at our pre-school each term, we offer existing parents the opportunity to increase their child’s sessions. Once this information has been updated we then contact new starters and ask them to complete a session request form, this will be emailed to you at the time.
If you would like to arrange a visit to look around the school, please contact Sarah Butcher on 01525 402286 or email mauldenoffice@mauldenlower.com
Help with childcare costs
Free nursery education is available to all 3 and 4-year olds. If your child’s third birthday falls between:
- 1 April and 31 August they qualify for funding from 1 September
- 1 September and 31 December, they qualify for funding from 1 January
- 1 January and 31 March, they qualify for funding from 1 April
The maximum Nursery Education Funding you can claim per week for each child is 15 hours. If you wish to claim the maximum 15 hours, you can do this over no more than 38 weeks of the year, which equals 570 hours in total.
Your 2-year-old can access up to 570 hours of funded early education and childcare a year, if you receive certain eligible benefits.
Eligible working parents of 3 and 4-year-olds are entitled to up to 30 hours of free childcare and early education per week, for 38 weeks of the year.
Please contact Central Bedfordshire Council for more information:

Please note if your child receives funding this does not guarantee a place at our pre-school. We have a maximum of 20 children per session and up to four of these can be 2 year olds. Places are allocated by age with priority going to the oldest children first.
