It is a real privilege to welcome you to Maulden Lower School.

Maulden is a small, friendly and inclusive community school for children aged two to nine, set in a beautiful rural location in the heart of the village. We are incredibly fortunate to have extensive grounds, outdoor classrooms and wonderful spaces in which our children can learn, play, explore and grow.

At the heart of our school is a simple ambition: we want every child to thrive.

Our school motto, Ad Aevum Meliorum – Towards a Better Life, captures what we want for every child who comes through our doors. We want our children to leave Maulden as kind, confident and curious young people, equipped with the knowledge, skills and experiences they need to succeed in the next stage of their education and beyond. We have high expectations for all our children and believe passionately that every child should have the opportunity to achieve their very best. A strong foundation in reading, writing and mathematics sits alongside a broad and engaging curriculum, rich experiences and opportunities that help children discover their interests, develop their confidence and understand the world around them.

Just as importantly, we want children to love coming to school. Relationships matter enormously to us. We want every child to feel known, valued and that they truly belong at Maulden. Our dedicated staff work hard to create a safe, happy and inclusive environment where children are encouraged to be ambitious, make mistakes, persevere and celebrate their successes. We know that children achieve their best when school and home work together. Building positive relationships with our parents, carers and wider community is therefore incredibly important to me and you will find us to be an open and welcoming school.

As the Headteacher of Maulden Lower School, I am incredibly excited about the journey ahead. There is already so much to be proud of here and my role is to work alongside our children, staff, families and governors to protect what makes Maulden special, while continuing to strengthen and improve what we offer every child.
